A little explaining...
As a group:
we are professionals, semi professionals, retirees, young bloods, layabouts and ne'er-do-wells. These scalawags start to plan an expedition through the Appalachian Trail during the summer months in preparation for the Fall Equinox (or close to it, whatever is least inconvenient). The event is basically a men's retreat where crude adolescent jokes and constant flatulence will go unshunned and even praised.
The hiking demographic includes:
- Token old guy (Eagle Scout prerequisite)
- Young guy (manual labor enthusiast)
- All others
The fest is usually organized by Phil (he-who-walks-off-mountains) and Gerald (I-swear-I'm-not-taliban). These hiking sophonts plan logistics, routes and organize the trek.
About this site:
AATMGHF is purely an excuse to dabble in new web frames, components and whatnot. The site started as a satirical play on an email my brother-in-law sent out many years ago trying to organize a hike. I wanted to learn how to make websites and I'm a naturally sarcastic person. Pretty much all my close friends are as well and so this site was born. AATMGHF isn't meant to be easily found and that is fine with me. This latest iteration is based on the Bootstrap framwork and the photo galleries use jquery and blueimp pluggins.
These are just some of the tools I used when rebuilding this site.
